Spirit of the moon.

The Hindu legend says that moonstone was moonlight that had been solidified, due the glow of the stone, also known as sheen or billowy effect. Just like pearls moonstone comes in several different colors. Moonstone can be found in many countries around the world, but was originally discovered in Sri Lanka. Moonstone has many different meanings in many cultures. For instance, Arabic countries women would sew moonstone inside their garments because in their cultures, moonstone is a symbol of fertility. This shimmering gem is sacred to Indian culture. It is believed to arouse passion, making it an ideal gift for lovers. One legend says if a moonstone is held in ones mouth on a full moon, he/she would have a vision of the future. Another legend says that the effects of moonstone resemble the moonlight and those refractions were once believed to be benevolent spirits!
